Our preschool
Why choose our public preschool?
Our public preschool is a fee-free preschool at MGPS. It’s an easy choice for local families with young children.
We give every child the start in early childhood education. At our preschool, children explore, ask questions and grow in a safe and caring place. Our friendly team helps each child learn and feel good through fun, hands-on play that builds confidence and curiosity.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our preschool. Contact us to talk to our team, book a tour or join our waitlist.
Preschool days and hours
Our preschool is open for 6 hours a day, on the same days as all NSW public schools. To learn about our preschool hours, please contact us.
Fees
We do not charge fees to attend our preschool. NSW public preschools are funded by the NSW government.
Attendance
Public preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school.
Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.
Meals
Children bring their own meals and snacks to preschool. For more information, please contact us.
How to enrol
Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for public preschools. Enrolment is on application only.
Enrolling in a preschool within a school does not guarantee a place at that school for Kindergarten.
Our preschool garden
Our Preschool Garden Gardening can be a wonderful and educational activity for young children. It offers them a chance to connect with nature, learn about plant life, and develop a sense of responsibility. Our preschool garden is a vibrant space that encourages exploration and discovery. Here's what makes it special: A Colorful Array of Plants The garden is home to a variety of plants, each chosen for its educational value and sensory appeal. Here are some of the plants that our preschoolers help to care for: Learning Kids observe changes in the garden, tracking the growth of plants and learning about the seasons. Benefits of a Preschool Garden The benefits of having a garden at our preschool extend beyond just learning about plants. Children develop a respect for nature, understanding the importance of caring for the environment. Emotional Growth: The garden provides a calming space where children can learn patience and experience the joy of nurturing life. Community Involvement Our preschool garden also serves as a hub for community involvement. Parents and local volunteers are invited to join in, helping with garden maintenance and sharing their gardening knowledge.
